Rekindling friendships through song

Kent Ridge Guild House was a hive of activities earlier this month. On 18 March 2023, besides organising a shopping trip with the child beneficiaries of Children’s Wishing Well, NUSS also played host to the choristers of eight schools for this year’s Singathon event.

First launched in 2011, the Singathon event was organised to provide a platform for choirs of diverse ages and backgrounds to come together and build camaraderie through day of singing. Suspended for two years due to the pandemic restrictions, this annual event was received with much excitement and anticipation upon its reinstatement this year!

The event was attended by a whooping total of 360 participants. This comprised students of participating schools – Raffles Girls’ Primary School, Nan Chiau Primary School, Endeavour Primary School, Bedok South Secondary School, Boon Lay Secondary School, Manjusri Secondary School, NUS High School of Math and Science and Punggol Secondary School, as well as the NUSS Choir. The school choirs had a ball of time taking turns to perform their selection of songs in a diverse range of languages such as English, Korean, French and more, while NUSS Choir presented two songs – ‘Homeward Bound’ and ‘Thank You For The Music’.

Indeed, thank you to all who participated and made this event a resounding success!
