Rocking the night away

Buoyed by the warm response received at the Music Section’s first Grad Jam Night in February, the Section hosted their second Grad Jam Night on 25 March 2023 at The Chill-Lab once again.

The bands were greeted with a strong turnout of NUSS members and guests all set for a night of live music and entertainment.

Music Cube kicked off the evening with popular rock hit, “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes, followed by a 45-minute set of popular pop songs. The Silver Stones took over later that evening and wow-ed the crowd with a wide range of international and country music, as well as evergreen songs in Mandarin, English and even Baba Malay. Members and guests had a blast singing along as well as showing off their best line dance and cha cha moves! The Open Mic segment was a proven hit as the audience enjoyed a slew of songs and entertainment that lasted till 1am.

NUSS Music Convenor, Ms Agnes Ng was delighted with the tremendous support shown by members. She commented that the Grad Jam Nights were popular as members love reliving the era of great local bands playing. The Music Section also hopes to hold more interesting programmes at future Grad Jam Nights.

Missed the last session? Make a date with Music Section and head over to Kent Ridge Guild House’s The Chill-Lab for their next Grad Jam Night on 5 May 2023 (Friday), 8pm till late.
