Honouring the life and legacy of the esteemed late Justice S. Rajendran, a distinguished NUSS Past President (1970-1971) who departed on 18 June 2024. His commitment to NUSS, NUS, and the broader Singapore community has left an indelible mark.
Justice Rajendran’s involvement with NUSS extended beyond his presidency. He served on the Management Committee during these periods 1970-1971 and 1982-1983. He was conferred the Distinguished Member Award in 2012 and volunteered on the Tender Board and Disciplinary Sub-Committee. From 2013 to 2014, he served on the Panel of Mediators. His generous donation to NUS Law further exemplified his dedication to education.
From leadership to charitable contributions, his legacy of service and integrity continues to inspire.
Distinguished Service to Singapore
As Chairman of the Hindu Endowments Board (2005-2014), he fostered religious harmony and community welfare. In 2011, he received The Public Service Star award. From 2014 to 2017, he served on the Presidential Council for Religious Harmony, promoting interfaith understanding.
Justice S. Rajendran’s life was a beacon of service, integrity, and excellence. His legacy will endure in the institutions he helped shape and in the hearts of those who knew him.
