Oktoberfest, a beloved tradition that began in Munich in 1810, has evolved into a global celebration of Bavarian culture, known for its lively games, hearty food, and festive atmosphere. This year, NUSS embraced that spirit at the Della & Seng Gee Guild Hall, offering members and guests a chance to experience the joy and excitement of this time-honoured festival.
The night buzzed with energy as participants dove into Oktoberfest’s signature games. The Sausage Sizzling Showdown ignited fierce competition as contestants raced to finish their sausages, while the Beer Chugging Challenge sent the crowd into a frenzy, cheering for the fastest chuggers.
Adding a whimsical touch to the evening, the German Horn Blowing Extravaganza had participants showcasing their talents, filling the hall with laughter and fun.
No Oktoberfest celebration would be complete without a hearty feast! Guests indulged in roasted pork knuckle, pretzels with beer cheese, and an assortment of German sausages. Paired with ice-cold steins of beer, the food perfectly complemented the festive atmosphere, while The Swiss Alpine Lions band kept everyone entertained with lively tunes from Switzerland and the Alpine region.
Together, the games, food, and music brought Oktoberfest to life at NUSS. As they say in Germany, “Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!” (A toast to comfort, here’s to good cheer!)
