Inspiring the Next Generation: NUSS Sustainability Chapter hosts Green Careers Panel Discussion

The NUSS Sustainability Chapter hosted a Green Careers Panel Discussion on 14 November 2024 for members, guests, and NUS students. The esteemed panel featured industry leaders Adrian Wong from Herbert Smith Freehills Prolegis, Kenneth Kong from KBR, and Dr Andre Nobre from SERIS/NUS. Jasmine Choo from Shell expertly moderated the discussion.

The panellists shared their professional journeys, motivations and key skills essential for success in the sustainability sector. They also discussed emerging opportunities within the green economy. Their insightful experiences and candid sharing sparked lively engagement among the attendees. Many students seized the opportunity to network with the speakers after the event, with one student even securing an internship with a corporation.

The NUSS Sustainability Chapter, led by Lim Swee Kim under the Intellectual Pursuit Sub-
Committee chaired by Soh Yi Da, was established less than a year ago through a task force
spearheaded by Kuan-Thye Sean. Dedicated to fostering environmental awareness and action, the Chapter welcomes members passionate about sustainability to participate in its initiatives and contribute to a greener future. The Chapter organises monthly sustainability-focused events and activities, including expert forums, nature walks, site-visits, hands-on activities and educational workshops in collaboration with ClimateFresk.
