The NUSS Music Section’s Friends Alliance Band (FAB) and Keppel Club’s The Keppelites marked their 10th annual joint band showcase with the Shanghai Tea Dance Party on 11 January 2025.
The event, set in the elegant Belayer Room at Keppel Club and with a festive Chinese New Year dress code, attracted over 100 enthusiastic attendees.
NUSS Cultural Chairman Mr Sonny Yuen and Membership Chairman Mr Daniel Chia attended the event to celebrate this milestone.
The Keppelites kicked off the celebration with Cantopop and Mandopop classics, sparking a nostalgic sing-along. The highlight was Vernon Cornelius, the “Cliff Richard of Singapore,” whose performance of retro hits earned an encore.
FAB then delivered electrifying sets spanning rock, jazz, disco, and more. Led by Convenor Agnes Ng and featuring talented musicians like Jeff Yeam, David Ng, and Anne Lee, the band captivated the audience. Singers, including Deputy Convenor Angeline Kim-Kyna Tan, kept the energy high, ensuring guests were dancing all afternoon.
The event also featured a buffet and lucky draw with prizes like vouchers, wine, and whiskey, generously sponsored by NUSS and Keppel Club. Special thanks to the organising team and Keppel Club for hosting this milestone celebration.
This successful event marks a decade of partnership between NUSS and Keppel Club, with many more celebrations to come.
