In Singapore, many families living in rental flats struggle to afford comfortable bedding, often relying on worn-out mattresses that impact their well-being. On 11 January, NUSS, in partnership with the Zhenghua Community Club, launched Project Sweet Dreams to address this issue. Supported by both members and non-members, the initiative provided 100 new mattresses and bedding essentials to underprivileged families. NUSS President Mr Tong Hsien-Hui, Immediate Past President and NUSS Community Care Sub-Committee Chairperson Mr Edward S. Tay, NUSS Community Care Sub-Committee Deputy Chairperson Mr Daniel Chia, and Advisor for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC GROs (Zhenghua) Mr Edward Chia participated, alongside NUSS members and their families, in this meaningful cause.
Volunteers spent the entire Saturday distributing mattresses and bedding essentials to families at Senja Close and Senja Road. This initiative relieved years of discomfort, providing both physical comfort and a renewed sense of hope, underscoring the strength of community solidarity.
Volunteers played a key role, delivering supplies and offering comfort to families. This initiative reflects NUSS’ values of generosity, kindness, and service, supporting causes like the NUSS Bursary Fund and its adopted charities.
Project Sweet Dreams highlights the power of partnerships and volunteerism in creating change, reaffirming NUSS’ commitment to positively impacting those in need.
