Engaging Minds, Shaping Perspectives: NUSS Dialogues on Regional and Global Affairs

NUSS remains committed to fostering intellectual discourse through the Meet the Ambassador Series and exclusive dialogues, providing members insightful discussions on critical global and regional issues. On 5 March 2025, the first Meet the Ambassador Series of the year featured His Excellency Allaster Cox, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, in a closed-door dialogue on Australia’s Big Challenges: Outlook to the 2025 Elections and Beyond. Moderated by Mr Joseph Kwok, the session explored Australia’s political and economic landscape ahead of the 2025 elections, addressing key challenges, socio-political trends and broader regional and global implications.

Reaffirming the commitment to intellectual engagement, NUSS hosted another dialogue on 10 March 2025, featuring Professor Dr Ong Kian-Ming, former Deputy Minister for International Trade and Industry of Malaysia. Titled Malaysia’s Economic and Political Narratives under the Madani Government: Challenges and Opportunities, the session explored Malaysia’s evolving economic and political landscape. Moderated by Mr Soh Yi Da, Chairperson of the Intellectual Pursuit Sub-Committee, the discussion provided an in-depth analysis of the challenges and opportunities shaping Malaysia’s future.
